Mara Faccio

Mara Faccio is the Tom and Patty Hefner Chair in Finance & Professor of Management (Finance) at the Mitch Daniels School of Business, Purdue University. Her research interests are in international corporate finance, international corporate governance, and corporate political connections. Her research has appeared in the leading finance, economics, strategy, and accounting journals. Her work has received several awards, including a JFE “All Star Paper” award, and was twice the winner of the Sharpe Award for Best Paper in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. She has more than 30,000 citations in Google Scholar. Professor Faccio is a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute. She is an Advisory Editor of the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis and of the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Corporate Governance: An International Review. She served on the board of directors of the American Finance Association and is currently serving as the President of the Financial Management Association International. Professor Faccio earned her Ph.D. in finance from Universita’ Cattolica (Milan).
